NAPERVILLE/ ENGAGEMENT: EBONY & BRYAN

Have you ever laughed so much that when it's time to get serious... you can't help but giggle no matter how hard you try to hold it back?  Well that's kind of how this last engagement shoot went.  Every time I wanted to try and get that candid kiss, or moment when their faces got closer and closer, Bryan would make a funny voice or Ebony would just lose it!  Of course then I can't push the button or meter correctly because I was too busy laughing...  and that proved something to me; not only do I love what I do because I get to have so much fun with my couples, but that love is not always so serious!  Sure there is the romance, beauty, and passion.  But there is so much love found in laughter too.  Let me tell ya these two; have A LOT of love for each other ;)

Ebony and I go back to my 2nd year at North Central College in Downtown Naperville, now the location of where we held their engagement shoot at.  We both were orientation leaders, good times.  Years later I receive a call from Ebony saying that she had just become engaged!  I thought, "Oh my goodness, this guy must be one amazing fella cause I know Ebony and she only says yes to the very best!"  Then I finally got to meet Bryan during our "Get to know you" meeting and I was right.  God did it again... a perfect match!  I'm so blessed to say that I had the opportunity to shoot their engagement session!  Thank you guys for letting me capture the love and laughter you guys share with each other.  I wish you both nothing but a blessed life filled with those uncontrollable giggles.  Love ya both!

Now I hear the name of this particular art piece found on the river walk of Downtown Naperville is called "Landforms"  But I think it's a heart!  ;)

STARVED ROCK/ ENGAGEMENT: STEPHANIE & DAN

Two rock climbers who love God with all their hearts, and will tackle just about anything that is made up of igneous, sediment, or some form of hardened minerals and dirt.  Now Dan and I go way back almost 9 years-ish from coaching gymnastics together.  God has blessed me with a brother who is so sold out for God and have been through a lot, I remember Dan and I talking about "Why is it that the nice guys always finish last?" said two juniors in high school, (I know,  right?) as we stood around the foam pits, and still rings in the gym.  

It was not until a number of years later when Dan introduced me to Steph.  Now according to her, she doesn't remember me because she said she was having a bad day that day... but I knew right after I met her that Dan had fallen for this one.  I can honestly say that I am so happy for these two and God has truly blessed my boy Dan with his absolute perfect match!  I've also been blessed to call myself their wedding photographer, coming in November, but for now we did a little trip back to go old Starved Rock in Oglesby, IL to shoot their eSession!  What a wonderful time we had and for me it was really close to my heart to be able to capture the love between two amazing friends!  "It's not that nice guys finish last Dan... they just finish with the best!"  Love you guys.  I hope you all enjoy their engagement session as much as I enjoyed capturing it!

STARVED ROCK: It's the little things...

Wow!  What an amazing weekend!  So I know it's been a while... okay a long while so I'm trying to catch up with blogging and my images, but this past weekend was such a blast!  

On one of my past blog posts I had met with a bunch of photographers at the Dollop Coffee House in downtown Chicago, and since then we've all gotten pretty tight.  So this past weekend we planned a trip to Starved Rock in Oglesby, IL.  It was fantastic!  We started at 9 a.m. in the morning & hiked through the day, spending hours from site to site taking pictures, learning, and helping each other with our own specialties.  Basically it was a great time to, as my aunt would say, "commune with nature."  It was so nice just hanging out with photographers, getting to meet their wonderful families, and really bond outside of the professional aspect of the industry.  The funny thing is that I think pain and agony have a way of bringing people together... especially when we're all suffering through it together!  So I think we were the closest when climbing some of those ridiculous trail steps while lugging our camera equipment!  As tiring as it was, I wouldn't trade it for anything... so much fun!  

I love building relationships with people and I hope that this is the beginning of something awesome!
